Fiorentina-Juventus: Renzi supports the request to postpone the match
Matteo Renzi, leader of Italia Viva, agrees with the Fiesole curve, the heart of Fiorentina’s fans, who are asking for the postponement of the match while the region is still dealing with the aftermath of the recent flood. “Today, Fiorentina-Juventus is not just a game for Viola fans, it’s THE game. They spend a whole year preparing a special choreography, and the Fiesole curve gets ready for these big occasions. But after what happened in Tuscany with the bad weather, how can we play today? And indeed, the fans understood it well by proposing to postpone the match,” says Renzi.
“Playing the match at this time doesn’t make any sense: there are still many areas struggling around Florence, it’s not logical to send hundreds of police officers, carabinieri, and rescuers to the stadium instead of Campi Bisenzio or Quarrata. Asking for the postponement is a simple and necessary thing to do. It’s a shame that only the ultras have said the right thing, while the institutions are doing something profoundly wrong. A heartfelt thanks to the fans who prove to be more sensitive and humane than the managers of the sacred football business,” Renzi writes on social media.
