Enrica Bonaccorti: la confessione dopo l’operazione d’urgenza a cuore aperto

Enrica Bonaccorti underwent a complex 8-hour open-heart surgery this summer, but revealed the experience only a few hours ago through a long confession shared on her social media profiles. Fans had noticed that the presenter had been absent from social media since July, causing concern.

Enrica Bonaccorti’s Shocking Confession about her Heart

Enrica began by greeting her fans and updating them on what had happened in these past months, before continuing with a long outpouring:

“My dear friends, I haven’t posted anything since mid-July, not because I was on vacation on some remote island or because I decided to cut ties with you. I want what happened to me, a sudden open-heart surgery, to leave a mark of awareness on all those who read me, because I didn’t have any heart pain or symptoms. My only symptoms were extreme fatigue and shortness of breath, which I attributed to a bit of depression and, above all, age, while my daughter Verdiana continued to remind me how fit Milo, who is much older than me, is. The only strange thing is that one day in early July, I started to have a terrible itching all over my body, and my whole body turned fiery red in patches. I looked like that burnt child fleeing Hiroshima. I hadn’t changed anything in my diet or medication, I hadn’t been in the sun, so it was just my body screaming that something was wrong. Of course, I went to a doctor who found a kidney stone (which had never caused me any pain). They decide to intervene because, after all, it’s a simple operation. But the cardiologists, Professor Leo, Professor Saglia, and Professor Giulio Speciale, together with Dr. Quintarelli, came to me the next day with somber faces to tell me that something was wrong with my heart, and that I needed a CT scan and then a coronary angiography, which revealed that all my arteries were blocked. In a couple of months, I could have been gone. They initially thought about using stents, but they weren’t enough. I needed 4 bypasses, taking veins from my legs to reconstruct an alternate path that would bring blood flow to my heart. It was an open-heart surgery that lasted a total of eight hours! The moral of the story is that they told me I was very lucky, as it was an accidental discovery that saved my life. I owe my life to them. And also the quality of life they have given me from early July until now. Surrounded by wonderful people, their humanity in taking care of me helped me overcome the pain, worries, and setbacks caused by the fragility of my sternum. I always felt in capable and affectionate hands. I will never be grateful enough to Professor Massimo Massetti, director of the cardiovascular department at the Gemelli Polyclinic, who operated on me together with Dr. Lauria and his team. I owe my life to them. Started at Paideia, then to Mater Dei, a lot to the Gemelli Polyclinic, and finally the ARS bio Medica, the last step of this long journey, where Professor Mancone is helping me with rehabilitation and Dr. Chiariello, the prince of my sternum reconstruction, is helping me return to you. Treasure my experience, get yourselves checked as much as you can, hoping above all that you have the same luck I had! I can’t wait to see you again! Hopefully, very soon.”

Enrica Bonaccorti’s Illness: “Uncontrolled cholesterol had invaded the arteries”

Following this long post to share her experience and her current health condition, Enrica decided to thank everyone with another post for the support and affection she received in these past months: “I want to thank everyone who took part in recounting my clinical adventure, a didactic narrative to clearly explain what happened and to encourage everyone to get checked. I read that some people are referring to vaccines, and since I have had all four prescribed doses, this morning I wanted to inform the doctors who operated on me about it. Their response was that in my case, there were many factors unrelated to the vaccine. I was a heavy smoker from the age of 16 until three months ago, I never exercised, and my family genetics were leading me in that direction. Plus, they explained to me that my heart muscle was fine, but uncontrolled cholesterol had invaded the arteries. I think it’s wiser to believe in experts like Professor Massetti and Dr. Lauria than to listen to those who blame vaccines for every evil. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Stay well.”
