Genitori denunciano ‘processo contro di noi’ dopo omicidio della sorella

Graziano Scagni and Antonella Zarri, the parents of Alberto, the man who killed his sister Alice outside her home in Genoa Quinto on May 1st, 2022, spoke out against the trial process. They believe that they were not given a fair trial and that all the witnesses were not heard. They suggest there may have been a conspiracy, but they did not elaborate on this. They claim that there can’t be justice after such a trial and that there is definitely bias involved.

Today, after the closing arguments from the prosecutor Paola Crispo and the lawyers for the defense and the prosecution, the judges will retire to their chambers to make their decision.

The prosecutor had asked for a life sentence, while Scagni’s lawyer argued for a partial mental defect to be recognized and for a lesser sentence.

“In this matter, we have seen some experts who have worked with professionalism and conscience, while others were influenced and acted out of convenience. A partial truth is being reconstructed, and not everyone has been listened to. And we want to say something, even if it may seem provocative: thank you, Italian justice, thank you, 112.” After the murder, the parents reported the doctor from the Mental Health Center of Asl3 and the operators at the emergency call center who received calls from the boy’s father on that day but didn’t send any police cars. The prosecutor has asked for the case to be closed, but the parents have opposed this and a hearing must be scheduled for further discussion.
