Massimo Gramellini debuts on La7 with ‘In altre Parole’, his new program that will start on Saturday evening and was presented today at the Casa del Cinema in Rome. Roberto Vecchioni, who will comment on the main news of the week with Gramellini, was also present. Also in attendance were comedian Saverio Raimondo, art critic Jacopo Veneziani, and the new addition, journalist Alessandra Sardoni, a historical face of TgLa7, and Cecilia Sala, who will be the “storyteller of foreign stories,” as explained during the press conference.
In each episode, there will be room for Saverio Raimondo’s sharp satire and journalists Sardoni and Sala, ready to tell the news from new perspectives. Veneziani, in his new segment, will leave the studio to show hidden and mysterious places, while Laura Bonasera will travel around Italy to tell everyday but emblematic stories of our society.
To enrich the storytelling of ‘In Altre Parole’, many guests from the world of culture, entertainment, and politics will be invited to bring their own vision of the facts, and more generally of the world, to the studio, with the aim of offering a kaleidoscope of ideas for reflection every Saturday. “What I would like to avoid are the typical talk show arguments,” Gramellini explained to Adnkronos shortly before the program presentation. “I would like to combine the dissemination and narration of current events with a touch of lightness.”
Gramellini expressed enthusiasm about having Vecchioni by his side because “he is a man with a history, a vast knowledge, a singer, a professor, and a writer. He himself told me that thanks to this television experience, he discovered this vein of popularization that taught him to have the humility to reach as many people as possible.”
“It amuses me when people think that culture is something ‘high’ and boring,” Gramellini added. “Culture is not a language only for a chosen few, but it should reach the largest number of people, and we will try to do that through lightness.” On his choice to move from Rai to La7, Gramellini emphasized to Adnkronos that “there are no political reasons behind it. It was a choice dictated strictly by professional reasons, the challenge to host a prime-time program after 7 years in access prime time. At Rai, I have always been free, no one has ever censored me.”
‘In Altre Parole’ does not stop on Saturday night and has another appointment on Sunday evenings, from 8:35 pm to 9:15 pm, starting from September 24th. A sort of cultural insert of the program, where a topic or current issue that fuels debate in our country will be explored.
